TOEIC

I took the TOEIC test last weekend. I also took the exam about three months ago. I will receive the results after   three weeks.

I studied English very hard for the past three months. So I'm hoping that my score is higher than last time. And I continue studying English.

Endurance makes you stronger.

Yandex

Yandex, a Russian Internet Search Company has been listed on the Nasdaq. The company raised $1.3 billion from an IPO. For your information, Google raised 1.67 billion in 2004.

According to Yandex's prospects, in 2010, the company generated 64% of all search traffic in Russia. Google is about 22% (*1). And Yandex operate in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The prospects also said their strengths the following.
Competitive StrengthsWe believe that we benefit from the following key strengths:
- we are the internet market leader in Russia by revenue, with the most popular search engine and most visited website
- we are at the forefront of search and information retrieval technology
- we deliver best-in-class user services
- we have a proven track record of monetization
- we attract and nurture world-class talent

In search company, it's important to boost searching share. Naturally, they think it. How does Yandex increase their share using IPO money? I'm interested in it.

This artwork was named Ishinki (意心帰). It was designed by Kan Yasuda (安田 侃) using marble stone.

Whenever I see this piece of work, I can't explain why I feel a soothing sense of relief. By the way, the hole on it side is big that a child can go inside it. When I went to see this artwork, I saw a child playing inside it.

Tokyo Midtown

I went to Tokyo Midtown to see public art. It's located in central Tokyo.
Tokyo Midtown is a giant-complex which has a hotel, office buildings, residences, shops, restaurants, and all of that.

The picture bellow is in shops and restaurants area called "GALLERIA". The building has a good light despite being closed.

I'd like to introduce more about public art at a later post.

Sharing

Recently, I’ve seen books about share at a bookstore recently. For instance, house sharing and car sharing.
I think the current concept of sharing needs add-value.

In the case of house sharing, we can imagine that it is only cheap but it is well decorated, good location, and connecting to others. Car-sharing also has add-value. It’s an eco-friendly.
These add-values have to fit with the times.

When I was child, my brother and I shared various things. Well, actually, it was just hand-me-down from my old brother. There wasn’t add-value, so I didn't like it.

half marathon

I go jogging about 2 times a week. I've been jogging for a year and usually jog 8 km a day.

I set a goal to jog 20 km. It's almost of same distance as half marathon. I tried to jog 20 km earlier this week, it was my first challenge to jog 20 km. I think the distance I jogged was quite far. I jogged with a very slow pace but I was able to finish it.

After jogging, my knee hurt a little. Two days after, the pain subsided. I wouldn't want the same things to happen, so next time I will try to jog step by step.
